When Elena Delle Donne shared her truth with the rest of the world in 2016, announcing her engagement to now wife Amanda Clifton, it was like her spirit was splashed by a sea of bright triumphant colors. No longer did she have to hide her identity in some sort of darkness. Energized by Elena’s journey, we dipped the superstar’s signature shoe in distinctive rainbow flag hues, celebrating the beginning of a new day. The eye-catching gradient is spread throughout the design and honors LGBTQIA+ communities worldwide.
Elena is real, raw, happy and whole, ready and willing to be a light in the LGBQT community for those who want to be equally as comfortable in their own skin. When you look down at the shoes, you’ll be able to see “Be True” on the toe tips, a little reminder to Elena to keep living authentically. With the FlyEase addition, “Be True” is also inscribed on the straps and externally facing when you pull them out.
Made with FlyEase technology, the heel of the shoe partially collapses when you step in, effectively widening the collar to make getting in extra easy. A large strap is connected to the laces and fastens to the side, letting you secure the fit with 1 hand.
A full-length Nike Air unit is stitched to the upper to help reduce layers and overall weight while bringing the cushioning right up under your foot. There's also a forefoot Zoom Air unit that returns energy with every step. That spring and speed is enveloped in a soft injected foam for complete stability that can help you play at a high level for longer.
The outsole pattern uses contoured lines that bend and deflect in multiple directions to help you gain traction and always feel connected to the court.
